Founded in 1980, the Assam Association of North America (or AANA, as it is well known) is a community of people from Assam, India, living across North America. United by pride in our Assamese language and culture, we are committed to preserving this rich heritage and passing it on to future generations. AANA was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in 2025.
Our sister organizations are – Assam Foundation of North America (AFNA) and Assam Sahitya Sabha, North America (ASSNA).

To be the leading organization in North America dedicated to the vibrant preservation and celebration of Assamese heritage, creating a united community of Assamese people who actively share their culture and traditions with the wider society, ensuring the continuity of their identity for generations to come.

The Assam Association of North America (AANA) is dedicated to preserving and promoting Assamese language and culture among the Assamese diaspora in North America, fostering a strong community identity, and passing on this rich heritage to future generations through educational, cultural, and social initiatives.
